Flickr, or Not to Flickr

I want to be the person who uses Flickr.

I want to take a lot of wonderful pictures, enhance them, store them, send them to friends, and use for new and interesting projects.

Maybe because of this exercise I'll find the nearest phone booth, rip off the glasses, bust out of the suit and become...(oh, that's another story..) Or  maybe I'll start taking pictures and download them to my computer.

Actually, I've taken the first step. I actually bought a camera...a Coolpix S220....(sort of sounds like a car.) I took the camera with me on an expedition to Rome and actually snapped a few shots. With help, I downloaded them to my computer and sent them to a few friends. Next, I plan to get the red out of my eyes (in the pictures...)

I can see great opportunities for this and like I said...I want to be the person who uses Flickr. I want to be neat and organized (and I'd like to leap tall buildings...)

LinkedIn

I watched the videos on the networking sites hoping to find some value in LinkedIn for me. I joined about a year ago and I have to say I am underwhelmed by it. The people I hear from are usually from my past and are not very helpful to me. I suppose if I were more active it would increase the effectiveness of the site, but for now the vaolue escapes me.

Web 2.0

The abiltiy to become  more familiar with blogs and blogging is what interests me in exploring Web 2.0. Several of my friends are writers who maintain blogs and I have always been curious about them. I think there are ramifications for other interests of mine as well. For instance, it might be interesting to blog when I travel (currently I create a  handwritten journal which is a nice souvenir, but not so easy to share with others.)  I am also thinking about blogging about coaching. It seems it might be a positive way to train my newer coaches.

Why Am I Here?

Well, the appeal of "23 Things" is to learn several applications in a short amount of time. I feel like I've made a lot of progress recently and I'd like to continue. Plus, the opportunity to do this work on my own schedule will allow me to accomplish a great deal more.
